January 2009 Newsletter

Dear Beloved Women of God,

Happy New Year!  I’m excited about what the Lord has for God’s Love at Work in 2009 as we continue to seek Him in fasting and prayer.  Here’s what’s new so far:

God’s Love at Work Share the Love Fellowship: Begins January 12

These Kingdom gatherings are opportunities to share God's love with your sisters-in-Christ.  I invite you to bring a friend and come prayerfully with a Kingdom attitude and a servant's heart to be a blessing and be blessed.  The first fellowship will be held Monday, January 12 at Laredo’s Mexican Restaurant in Marietta, Ga. Click here for details.

God’s Love at Work 2009 Conference & Expo: November 6 or 7

We received much positive response from the 2008 Expo and would like to produce another one this year.  We are considering holding the 2009 event either Friday, November 6 or Saturday, November 7 in the Atlanta area.  Please let me know if you have a date preference by e-mailing me at

Also, we need financial support and volunteer staffing in place in order to continue to produce this stellar event.  The following volunteer positions are available:  Volunteer Director, Production Director, Expo Director, Conference Director, Information Director, Intercessory Prayer Director, Public Relations Director and Director of Sales.  If you or anyone you know would like more information about these positions, or would like to help sponsor the event, please e-mail me at

I’ll leave you with my own quick (if you use a food processor) and healthy recipe, which packs a lot of crunch and flavor:

Oriental Salad

1 bunch fresh bok choy
6 small scallions, sliced
1/4 bunch fresh cilantro, snipped
1 small carrot, shredded
1/2 cup chopped dry roasted peanuts
(Paul) Newman's Own Low Fat Sesame Ginger dressing
salt to taste
Wash veggies.  Remove green leaves from bok choy
& save for another dish, such as soup or salad.
Finely slice white stalks of bok choy crosswise.
In large bowl, add sliced bok choy & next four
ingredients.  Toss.  Add salt and dressing to taste.
Cover & marinate at least one hour in refrigerator
before serving.  Also good the next day.  Serves: 4

Tip:  If you do not wish to use bottled dressing,
simply grate fresh ginger into the salad, spritz with
olive oil & add a few shakes of soy sauce instead of salt.

Until next month, may God continue to bless you and the work of your hands!

In His Mighty Love,

Margaret D. Mitchell

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love.
Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.
