My Dear Sweet Child,

        My name is Jesus.  I was born and lived on earth to let you know God's love for you.  God is My Father.  His home is and will always be in Heaven.  That's why He is called Our Heavenly Father.  You see, God is Father to all of us.  He is even Father of all the animals!  He created everything on earth and the sun and stars too.

        God wants you to know that even if you can't see Him, He knows everything about you.  He cares very much about how you are feeling.  God loves you very, very much and so do I.

        My mother's name is Mary and My father on earth was Joseph.  One day, an angel (an angel is a very special friend of God) came and told Mary and Joseph that they would have a baby and they should call Him Jesus.  The angel said Jesus will be God's only Son and He shall do great things for all God's people.

        I was born in the town of Bethlehem.  It would be fun if you could find Bethlehem on a map to see where I lived.  Bethlehem is a city in Judea.

        My mother and father would bring Me to the temple.  (You might call it by some other name.)  We would go there to pray to God and thank Him and praise Him for all that we had.  Sometimes, if I was sad, I would tell Him how I was feeling because I knew He was listening and cared how I felt.  And sometimes, if I was scared, I would ask God to help Me be brave and strong.  There are also times when people need to ask God for forgiveness when they've done something wrong.

        As I grew older, I would travel to towns and tell people about Our Father.  God helped Me find some good friends to go with Me.  God also had friends write a book called the Bible.  The Bible tells true stories about My life and explains how we should live to please Our Heavenly Father.  You should read it or have someone read My stories to you.

        Now that I am in Heaven, sitting next to Our Father, it is important for you to know that I am the Way, the Truth and the Life to Our Heavenly Father.

        My dear sweet child, know that I will always be with you in your happy times and your sad times.
