‘Historic Women’s Event Is Slated To Revive & Advance Working Women Amid Economic Crisis’
Fortified with over a dozen workplace and ministry experts, this historic women’s event is purposed to help women be revived and thrive in their work lives, including moms who work at home, professionals in the marketplace, entrepreneurs, women seeking employment, even seniors who volunteer. “To my knowledge,” says God’s Love at Work Founder Margaret D. Mitchell, “this is the first Christian women’s workplace Expo that will be held inside a church within the U.S. And it is especially timely due our current economic conditions with record job loss. Attendees will learn how to 'recreate' and 'revalue' themselves to be become more marketable. And certainly, this is a time when many women will rely upon their faith to get them and their families through." This year’s keynote speaker is Fortune 500 businesswoman and personal and professional development expert Dondi Scumaci. Dondi is the author of “Designed For Success: The 10 Commandments For Women In The Workplace.” Dondi will instruct women how to update, upgrade and develop themselves; think strategically and market their results in quantifiable ways; build a powerful support network; negotiate instead of just accepting; never settle for less than they were designed for and more. The event will include two general sessions and eight breakout sessions. The Expo portion of the event will be held during lunchtime from noon to 1:30 p.m. and will accommodate both lunch tables and exhibit tables for the convenience of attendees to dine, network and shop. Admission for both the Conference & Expo is $35 per person. Women may register online through November 7 or at the church on Sundays beginning October 12 through November 2. God's Love at Work is partnering with Mount Paran North, which has a strong workplace ministry foundation. Their faith statement of "Loving God, loving people" fits with the event's theme, which is Love3. Love3 highlights the confluent relationship each woman shares with God, herself and others and is based on Ephesians 3:18 (the width, length, height and depth of God’s love) and God’s Greatest Commandments, which is to love Him with all of our heart, soul and mind and to love our neighbors as ourselves (Matt. 22:37-39). Worship and comedic relief will be facilitated by Atlanta-based trio 'Beloved,' led by former Miss Georgia and television co-host Kim Gravel. They will sing favorites and new tracks from their latest CD, “Wake The World.” Marketplace Leaders co-founder Angie Hillman is featured as the event’s special guest and will share her powerful heartfelt testimony, “Falling In Love With Jesus,” in the morning general session. The eight breakout session presenters include Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport Chaplain Rev. Dr. Chester R.. Cook, who will speak on “Motives That Matter.” Sarah Hathorn, the President of the Executive Committee of the Atlanta Chapter of the Association of Image Consultants International, will lead the fall fashion presentation, “Dressing For Success.” Other presentations include “Defeating the Giants of Stress” by author and ministry leader Joyce Simmons; “A Guide to Moving Your Love Walk to the Top of Your To Do List” by renown life and business coach Dr. Kimberly Jackson; “Living by Faith 9 to 5” by author and human resources expert Mary E. Banks; “Trusting God With Your 5-Year Plan” by actress, mom and Bible teacher Lisa Winters Cox; “Thriving Among Difficult People” by restoration ministry leader Barbara Lickwar and “Making it Against All Odds” by Bank Vice President and Nicaraguan refugee Marcia “Marci” Malzahn. Registered attendees are invited to bring to the event donations of clothing and shoes for boys and girls ages 3 – 15 and/or nonperishable food items, which will be shipped to the Mwangaza Child Care Center in Mombasa, Kenya in time for Christmas. Donations of children’s books will also be sent to children in Nairobi. This event is sponsored by Marietta, Ga. businesses David Douglas Diamonds & Jewelry, Six Beans and Chocolate Jewels Candy Company.
