‘God’s Love At Work Offers Professional Women A Sanctuary Event’

Marietta, Ga., November 7, 2009—The second annual God’s Love at Work 2009 Women’s Conference & Expo will be held Saturday November 7, 2009, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. at
North Metro Church in Marietta, Ga.

        Fortified with nine workplace and ministry experts, this second annual women’s event is purposed to help refresh working women by offering sources and resources in a relaxing, fun and intimate environment. 

        “We are seeing an increase of marketplace women turn to their faith to get through their current economic circumstances,” says God’s Love at Work Founder Margaret D. Mitchell.  “We'd like to help facilitate that.”

        This event brings together women who work in any capacity, including career professionals, entrepreneurs, moms who work at home and those seeking employment.

        It will include three general sessions and three breakout sessions. The expo portion of the event will open at 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. and again at 1 p.m. for lunchtime.

        This year, a new “Divine Connections” segment in the Café will extend networking opportunities after the main event.

        The keynote speaker will be Dr. Caroline Leaf, a brain and learning expert and the author of "Who Switched Off My Brain? Controlling Toxic Thoughts & Emotions."  Dr. Leaf has researched the human brain for 25 years with particular emphasis on unlocking its vast untapped potential.  She is passionate about linking scientific brain research to biblical principles in a simple and practical way.  Dr. Leaf was nominated for the South African Businesswoman of the Year award in 2008She has appeared on numerous Christian television shows, including "Enjoying Everyday Life" with Joyce Meyer and "Life Today" with James & Betty Robison.  

        This year’s special guest speaker will be Mrs. Evelyn Neely, a retired Xerox vice president, who now works as an assistant vice president of organizational development at Ryla, Inc. in Kennesaw, Ga.  Mrs. Neely is known for her passion to motivate others toward excellent leadership and will present her inspiring workplace testimony, “Moving From Power To Passion."

        Praise and worship will be facilitated by Marietta, Ga. native Kelly Ingram, TV show host of “Friends & Neighbors.”  She will sing favorites and her latest single, “I Am All These Things,” a hopeful tune born from her own trials. 

        Three breakout session presenters include Ms. Francina J. Price Pace, who will speak on “Investing For Women.”  Ms. Pace is a former vice president of corporate services for HomeBanc Mortgage Co.  Other presentations include “Celebrating Sisterhood” by Mrs. Shirley Voorhees, president of Titus 2 Consulting, a company dedicated to helping women find value, purpose and balance.  When God Chooses You” will be facilitated by Ms. Deborah Johnson, a former flight attendant during 9/11 who now works as an associate director of operations at Ryla, Inc. in Kennesaw, Ga.

        Brazilian dancer Mrs. Joyce Murray will also perform to Laura Rhinehart’s “Isa’s Song.”

        Admission for both the Conference & Expo is $45 per person in advance. Women may register online through November 6 at this price.  Tickets at the door are $55 per person.  Groups of 5 or more will receive a $5 discount per person with advance ticket purchase by October 15.  All ticket prices include a Chick-fil-A lunch.  Volunteers are needed.

        Attendees are invited to bring to the event donations of clothing and shoes for boys and girls ages 4 – 16 and/or nonperishable food items, which will be shipped to the Mwangaza Child Care Center in Mombasa, Kenya in time for Christmas. Donations of children’s books will also be sent to children in Nairobi, Kenya.
